How math is used to meet customers agreements while reducing total cost

By Mattijs van den Berkmortel – former Industrial and Applied Mathematics student

ASML lithography systems are used to produce microchips with nanometer accuracy. Due to a rapidly growing demand for chips is it of high importance to keep these machine up and running for as long as possible. Therefore, it's key to execute service activities when they are needed. For this must the required service parts be available at the right moment in time.

During this drink lecture will it be explained how mathematics is used to do a proper trade-off between meeting customers agreements and improving the machines up time while reducing the total cost.
