Teqram

Teqram is a company located in Zwolle, the Netherlands, and is part of the Tollenaar group. Teqram specializes in vision-guided robotics, focussed on the steel processing industry. Some of our tasks include:

-          Handling parts between pallets, bins, conveyer belts, etc.

-          Loading and unloading blasting and milling machines.

-          Grinding laser- and plasma parts, removing slag, adding radii, etc.

What sets Teqram apart from other robotics companies is our vision-based approach. That means that our robots use various cameras and 3D-scanners to see the world, and decide their course of action based on that. It views a pallet, and determines the shape, best pickup position, and future placement. All in that moment, based on what the system sees. This makes the process much more flexible that traditional robotic automation, and also means the user has to learn and do less input, since they do not have to program specific movements or positions. This system that should at once be very adaptable and flexible, while also being simple to use for an operator, provides us with a wide variety of interesting problems to solve.

Lunch Lecture

In the lunch lecture, we will provide a short overview of the company, who we are and what we do, and we will show some typical problems you might encounter if you were working at Teqram, covering vision processing, robot movement, and user input. Of course there will also be plenty of time for questions about whatever (Teqram-related) questions you have.
