The Dies dinner this year will look a bit different than usual. Instead of dinner being served, the 51 thieves will help you make your own dinner. The 51 thieves found out that lahmacun is a meal that students have also taken a liking to, so they will show you how to create this for yourself and guide you in the process!
The maximum enrollment fee is €3. After the activity we will determine the final costs, with the probability that the activity will be free in the end being high.
To make it easier for you, all the ingredients you need will be provided for you. When enrolling, you can choose between having the ingredients delivered to your home, or picking them up yourself. Delivery is only possible if you are living in Enschede, and the ingredients will be delivered to you on the day of the activity. If you choose delivery, please note your address in the comments so the 51 thieves know how to find you. If you choose to pick the ingredients up yourself, you can pick them up at one of the committee members’ homes, which we will specify later.
You need to have the following things in your kitchen:
• An oven with baking tray
• A (hand) blender (staafmixer)
• A rolling pin
• Baking paper or a very clean baking tray
• (Olive) oil
Additionally, get toppings to your own desire, for instance lettuce/rucola and/or garlic sauce.
Alternatively, if the previous options are not possible for you, you can also buy the ingredients yourself, but in that case you will not be reimbursed, though you can still join us in preparing your lahmacun! We recommend making the lahmacun with 2 people. The ingredient list per person is as follows:
Dough:
• 7 grams of yeast
• 200g flour
• 110ml water
• 1 tsp sugar
• ¾ tsp salt
Sauce:
• 1/2 paprika
• 1 tomato
• 1 onion
• 1 tbsp parsley
• 1 pepper
• 1 clove of garlic
Meat:
• 100g (vega) minced meat
• 40g tomato paste
• 1/8 tsp cinnamon
• 1/4 tsp cumin
• 1/4 tsp paprika powder
• 1/4 tsp cayenne powder
• Pepper/salt
