Ties Theunissen (Moovd)

Ties Theunissen will talk on behalf of Moovd, a sponsor of this years symposium. You can find a small introduction below.

My name is Ties Theunissen and as the CTO of the company I represent all our applications and make sure that they are delivered with the best quality we can provide. As a software engineer and founder at Moovd I've created the first version of the algorithm on our Digital EMDR product. This Algorithm has been developed even further with our team and it's my job to take it to the next step. In my perspective this is combining the algorithm with Mathematics to increase its functionality and make an even more reliable product.

About the talk:

We will try to fill the gap how mathematics can contribute to healthcare around the world. That will begin with a short introduction about Moovd and her WeMind Digital-EMDR project. This includes what EMDR is and how the current algorithm works and it will be followed by how mathematics could contribute to and improve digital therapy to realize growing impact on mental health of people all around the world.

About Moovd:

Moovd develops and unlocks digital therapies in various segments of the healthcare industry. Through innovative and creative application of technology, we help patients, therapists and health insurance companies move forward.

Everyone should have low-threshold access to high-quality mental health care. With this in mind, Moovd has quickly become a leader in innovative solutions that improve mental health. These solutions contribute significantly to solving mental health capacity problems and enable therapists to help a larger group of patients better and faster.

How does it work?

Moovd EMDR stimulates the senses better and more accurately. Through scientifically proven algorithms, the platform always searches for the individual's optimal working memory load. Moovd EMDR thereby increases the working memory load by 196%, resulting in a better, more effective decrease in the Subjective Unit of Distress. Experts from the likes of EMDR Consulting from Roy Kiessling and Launceston Psychology Clinic from Lucy Wise and many others confirm that therapists using Moovd EMDR increase the effectiveness of therapy, allowing them to better help more clients.
