Willem Ottevamger (M.Sc. 2005 (UT), Ph.D. 2013 (TUD), advisor/researcher at Inland Water Systems, Deltares) grew up in Southern Africa and subsequently started studying Applied Mathematics in Enschede. He will give a short impression of his experiences while studying and how the study has shaped him and how he still uses mathematics in his day-to-day job at Deltares in Delft.
