The freshmen committee has organized a lecture, scavenger hunt and tutorial to show your parents how it is to follow mathematical lectures/tutorials and show them all beautifull places on the campus.
Afterwards everyone is welcome to enjoy a drink at the Abscint to close out the day and chat some more with other students/parents.

Come enjoy a drink at this FriAD, tended by Inter-Actief! The FriAD will be a special Lustrum FriAD of IA, where the will also do the Beagle challange.
The Beagle is an event where they will throw old computers from a great height as part of a competition. Each team receives a PC from the organisation to package in an original way. We then drop them from certain heights and check if they still work. The team that can keep its PC working the longest wins the competition.

What's the problem? Finding interesting math topics within a PhD project.
Doing a PhD is not just about solving problems, it is also about finding the right ones! Research projects often provide a great deal of freedom, but with that freedom comes the challenge of identifying worthwhile topics to work on. Questions that are relevant, mathematically interesting, and still unsolved can be few and far between. Drawing on examples from my project on algorithms for data centers, we explore the challenge of finding the "right" problem to tackle.

The big Ab-Actie activity will be Waterskiing at the rutbeek this year. Put on some skis, a wetsuit and get ready to ski. We will gather 15:15 in Educafe and leave from the O&O square at 15:30. The waterskiing is from 16:30-18:00. Make sure to enrol quickly, as there are only 35 spots available. You can enrol until Tuesday 26 May. Costs will be maximum 15 euro.
Make sure to bring your swimwear and a towel!

On the 18th of June, the legendary 'Elfbierentocht' (Eleven Beers Tour) will take place. This yearly event is the biggest campus pub crawl of the University of Twente, where you can visit the drinking rooms of all study associations and end in the Vestingbar.
For just €15, you'll get eleven drinks (beer or soda), one at each stop. Feeling hungry at the end? Add €9 for unlimited fries and snacks to wrap up your evening in style.
What is the Eleven Beer Tour?
The Elfbierentocht is organized by a committee of enthusiastic students from various study associations. Along the way, you’ll visit the most beloved student bars on campus:
Study association bars: Abscint, MBasement, TAP, Technobar, Beneden Peil, and Diepzat
Sports and culture association bars: Paviljoen, Toren, Sportkantine, and Esports Lounge
That’s ten bars, each offering you one drink. You can collect you final (and eleventh) drink, along with the legendary Elfbierentocht medal, at the Vestingbar. If you signed up for food, unlimited fries and snacks will be waiting at the food trucks outside.
After completing the tour, join the afterparty at the Vestingbar and celebrate your hard-earned medal. Gather your friends, conquer the crawl, and make memories at this unforgettable night! See you there!
